Life if full of a million things that we remember and cherish, enough to not even fill "One Gargantuan Monkey Fist". This is a collection of those special, unique and funny events my life, thoughts on technology, F1 and the ying-yang of relationships.

Who is responsible for the Indianapolis Fiasco

Given that you already know my view about the issue, its now time to see who f'ed up.

I have some additional information now that I did not have before.

Michelin had two drivers conduct tests at Indy. Just two. Everyone else was testing at silverstone.

The FIA is the governing body. It is there to make the rules and see that everyone else follows the rules as they were laid down.

It is the responsibilities of the manufacturers and the teams to actually go on with the event.

In this case, safety was an issue, if it was... Then the teams should have decided to run, but run slowly.

I think its gross negligence on the part of the Teams and more importantly on Michelin to actually decide not to race. Michelin did not do the homework and the fault solely lies on them. The teams decided not to race and they should be held financially responsible along with Michelin for the fiasco.

I will try to get the transcript from Wind Tunnel - A talk show on TV, where Peter Windsor. He gave an analogy similar to mine, if a football team (soccer) has smaller cleats and it happened to rain, would it be logical or legal for them to ask for the goal posts to be extended, because they have no grip ? That's what the 7 teams wanted. Even if Ferrari had agreed to the chicane, it would have been illegal.

Keep reading, I am here for more analysis on how Michelin screwed up.
