Finally a fortune cookie makes sense... well atleast it made us laugh.

Read on, this post is not about the picture on your left.

Chinese resturants always finish off the meal by giving you a check and a fortune cookie. Its a fortune cookie, coz it the cookie has a little message on it. Since most chinese buffets are "all you can eat", I tend to go there pretty often.

But there has never been a time when those messages made any sense. They were badly formed sentences or they just did not mean anything. A while ago, I came across this picture and have always wondered if something funny like this would ever happen.

And it did.... Finally.

So here I am in San Jose at P.F.Changs (which I recommend you go to when you get a chance, its the most amazing Chinese resturant I have ever been to) with a friend and his fiance. I have known these people for years, but we have never had the time to meet each other. Now that they are engaged, they were the topic of discussion.

As we are finishing up the fortune cookies are dropped off at our table. My friends fiance is the first to open it and she starts laughing. Her fortune says "An Admirer is concealing his affection for you". We spend five minutes discussing who this person could be, just for kicks.

As we are doing this, my friend goes next. He has the same reaction as her, he is now laughing. His fortune says "The smart thing is to prepare for the unexpected". I could not control my laughter.

Now I am raring to open my fortune and after a little struggle with the plastic wrapper, I finally open it. "Be Patient. Good things come to those who wait" is what my message says. I could not control my laughter, neither could they.

It was really intresting that for the first time a fortune made sense and it was funny for the right reasons.

So keep eating that chinese food, you never know when you will get a good laugh out of it.
